Linking scores from two written receptive English academic vocabulary tests—The VLT-Ac and the AVT

چکیده

The academic section of the Vocabulary Levels Test (VLT-Ac) and Academic (AVT) both assess meaning-recognition knowledge written receptive vocabulary, deemed central for engagement in activities. Depending on purpose context testing, either tests can be appropriate, but research pedagogical purposes, it is important to able compare scores achieved two between administrations within similar contexts. Based a sample 385 upper secondary school students university-preparatory programs (independent CEFR B2-level users English), this study presents comparison model by linking VLT-Ac AVT using concurrent calibration procedures Item Response Theory. key outcome score table providing means approximate comparisons. Additionally, showcases viable valid method comparing vocabulary from an older test with those newer one.
